for focus

give your ears something better to do.

the enemy of concentration isn't noise — it's irregular noise. a steady ambient bed underneath your work masks the interruptions without demanding attention itself. Resonate is an iPhone app that builds that bed from 65 spatial soundscapes, placed around you so the sound stays out of the way of the work.

masking, not silence

open offices, thin walls, a café that got loud: what breaks your focus is rarely the level of sound, it's the surprises in it — a door, a laugh, half of someone's phone call. speech is the worst offender; your brain can't not parse it.

true silence isn't the fix either, because in silence every small sound is a surprise. what works is a steady, predictable bed of sound: it raises the floor so the spikes disappear into it. that's masking, and it's what ambient sound is actually for.

place the sound, free the middle

here's what spatial audio changes for focus: a flat loop sits in the center of your head — exactly where you're trying to think. Resonate places each layer around you instead: rain off to your left, a low café murmur behind you, a fire somewhere to the right. the mix holds at the edges of attention and leaves the middle clear for the work.

each of the 65 soundscapes is positioned in true 3D on any headphones — see spatial audio, explained for how that works.

mixes for work

describe the working atmosphere you want and Magic Mix builds it, or layer it yourself in the studio. prompts that earn their keep:

when a mix works, save it — the free tier keeps up to 3 saved mixes, so your study mix is one tap from the home screen (there's a widget for exactly that).

no feed, no account, no noise

a focus tool shouldn't compete for the attention it's guarding. Resonate starts playing and gets out of the way: no sign-up, no notifications begging you back, no stats page to check. it's fully offline — flights included — and nothing about you leaves the phone.
